Gaberiel Pacheco uses to hunting American crocodile. Now he protects them because of the word conservation spread throughout the younger. The crocodile is the top species in the in an environment. If you removed the top predator from the food chain, the prey will run wild. The large declined of the population of the crocodile is because of the illegal hunting. Clara Sierra, a biologist for the regional environmental authority (known as CVS) and also a member of the IUCN's Crocodile Specialist Group, describes this initial meeting between the hunters and conservationists as "the first step toward building a relationship of confidence." She is trying to spread the word conservation, so the people will not illegal hunt or kill.

  1. Andy,
Your blog is very interesting. Although don't you believe alligators and crocs are something to fear?
I think that the hunting is something that should be made illegal but I also feel that the two animals should be allowed to be killed if the human is in harms way.

  2. Ya i agree with if the humans are harmed the croc or alligators should be killed

  3. I agree with that too, but if the humans didn't bother or disturb the crocs or alligators than they wouldn't be harmed.

  4. That is somewhat true, but I believe that all animals have their bad sides. Just like humans. Look at the lady that died with the whale, and the killer whale was even trained to swim with humans. The alligators and crocodiles are very fearful animals and I certainly wouldn't mess with one, but if it attacked me I would want to be able to kill it or scare it away. And I wouldnt be able to do that without a weapon.

  7. That right there brings me back to my first point. Stay away from wild animals that you would have a chance defending youself too.

  9. I dont believe that they are more afraid of you, or else they would run away as soon as they saw you, but when Ive seen an alligator or crocodile, they always just stay there. It's hard to tell, and yes we need to just stay away from them, but also be careful. You might think your safe but who knows...

  10. No one person think your safe! that true it is hard to tell it they are afraid of you or not. the crocodile and alligators dont attack you ethier!!!

  11. If you kill you more Alliagtor and Crocodile for no reason the prey populatin will run all over. You do not want that to happen or you will have to kill the over population animal. Some people do not like to kill animal. The crocodile and alligator we need them. we are the ones moving on their land not the other way round!!!

  14. Humans are encroaching on natural habitats all over the world. It is a fact of the human population growth. Hundreds of species have to adapt to a changing world...one that is being greatly effected by the actions of humans. Yes, we can fight for conservation of certain habitats but that will only go so far...when it comes down to it, humans and their livelyhood, will come first...because if they don't, we are only setting up a system for more poaching and black market items. So, what choice is there...basically, adapt or die. Many species of animals have adapted or are adapting...the problem is that larger species that require larger habitats...ex: elephants, tigers and, oh yes, crocs...are losing out. I would think its very difficult to cohabitat with a crocodile...but I'm just guessing. In your article summeries, I didn't see any way that conservationalists are proposing to conserve the crocs habitat or cohabitat with them. Your thoughts and views...or should I say your research on this point?

  15. One way we can save the crocodile is to make park for them not to cage to cage, but to give them a section of land to live and repredose. maybe like 350 areas. the crocodile maybe can surivie if the illgeal hunter do not kill them for their skin. Even thought some peolpe eat the meat of the crocodile, but they grow crocodile farm if they want the meat of the crocodile. We should help save the crocdile so our children children can see the might crocodile. The Government must protect the crocodile as must has we can!!! SAVE THE CROCODILE!!!
